Janine Pearson

Janine is a voice and text coach and teacher. In her 36th season with the Stratford Festival, she is the Director of the Birmingham Conservatory (a paid two-year intensive which serves as an incubator for developing artists) and a member of the Festival's coaching team. She also created the Voice Care and Development Workshop for Educators; co-created the Toronto 5 project; and has taught for the Education and Langham Directors programs. Away from the Festival, credits include teaching at the University of Regina, University of Windsor, TMU, HB Studios (NY), Soulpepper Academy, University of Waterloo and a decade at the National Theatre School of Canada (Head of Voice, Associate Artistic Director of the English acting and playwrighting program); coaching for Canstage, Modern Times, The Globe, The Grand, Shakespeare by the Sea; and coaching for film and television. Janine is committed to mentoring the next generation of teachers and coaches.
