Laura Quigley

Belle River, Ontario

Laura Quigley is a Canadian theatre professor, performer, playwright, director, and producer specializing in voice. She holds an MA in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph, a BFA in Acting from Simon Fraser University, and is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework. Laura is persuing her MFA in Voice and Speech Pedagogy from Wayne State University (2026 graduate). Laura has taught voice, acting, solo performance, devising, and movement at institutions such as Toronto Metropolitan University, the University of Windsor, St.Clair College and Concordia University. Laura's research focuses on the human voice as an instrument for creation and activism. Her solo work explores unconventional vocal expression‚ grunts, howls, operatic song‚ creating an immersive sonic experience that resonates physically with audiences. By pushing beyond silence and speech, she seeks to evoke deep, visceral connections. She has taught and performed across Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and LA, continually expanding her exploration of voice in contemporary theatre.
